House Keeping Service
Although L.I.S.S. will provide basic house keeping service, we ask our students to keep their rooms neat and clean.
Laundry Service
We have a laundry room where house keeping service will do the laundries for students in the lower grades
International Calls
Our dormitory is equipped with a telephone line where students can call internationally to their parents and friends. However, we do restrict students from calling international calls unless it is an emergency. Each week, each student living abroad gets a chance to call their parents and friends.
LISS Dormitory Regulations - ?Late Updated, April 30, 2007
Article 1 (Objective) The objective of these regulations is to provide guidelines for the dormitory students so that everyone can enjoy the orderly and pleasant communal living while they stay at LISS dormitory. All the dormitory students will be educated on the rules and will be requested to pledge their fulfillment of such.
Article 2 (Room Allocation) Dormitory dean allocates a room for each students. Allocated room cannot be changed freely by the students.
Article 3 (Restriction on Outsiders Entrance) Dormitory students are not allowed to invite outsiders to the dormitory without the permission from dormitory dean.
Article 4 (Daily Schedule) Dormitory students need to be on schedule for the following;
- Breakfast : 06:30 ?07:30
- Lunch : 11:00 ?11:30
- Dinner : 17:30 ?18:30
- Return to dormitory room : 21:00
- Light out : 22:00
Article 5 (Meal) Dormitory students are requested of the following for the meal;
- All the meals will be provided at the designated place.
- Exception will be granted for patients who are acknowledged by dormitory dean and they will be allowed to have their meal at the dormitory room.
Article 6 (Visiting) Following process is required for visitors;
- Visiting hours will be allowed after dormitory dean gives permission.
- Visitor is allowed to meet the dormitory student at a designated place only. Exception to this will be allowed only with dormitory dean’s agreement.
Article 7 (Sleep Out & Going Out)
- When a dormitory student wished to sleep out or go out, he or she needs to write and submit the reason, time, and place to dormitory dean for permission.
- A dormitory student who is allowed to either sleep out or go out must return in time.
?Article 8 (Accountability Check) Accountability check will be done daily. Room inspection will be done regularly at designated time period.
- Night time check : 21:00 ?22:00
- Daytime check : 06:30 ?07:00
Article 9 (Correspondence) Dormitory communication is as follows;
- Notification : Dormitory students are required to read and understand what is noticed on the bulletin board. Should a dormitory student need to make a notification through bulletin board or distribute prints, he or she must get dormitory dean’s permission beforehand.
- Telephone : Dormitory students are allowed to use the phone at designated time after dinner. For overseas call, use of international telephone card is required.
- Mail : Regular mail can be picked up by the student directly from dormitory dean. Special mail can be picked up with dormitory dean’s assist.
Article 10 (Consulting & Making Suggestions) Dormitory students can freely make
suggestions through dormitory dean and also ask for personal consulting when needed.
Article 11 (Facility Management & Defect Report) Dormitory students must report to dormitory dean immediately when any defect or damage of the facilities arises. Dormitory students are not allowed to change any dormitory facilities.
Article 12 (Fire Prevention & Cleanliness) Dormitory students take mutual responsibilities with the dormitory staff on preventing fire and maintaining the dormitory clean.
Article 13 (Laundry) When there’s personal request, dormitory student is allowed to do his or her own laundry from 09:00 to 19:00 under the supervision of dormitory dean.
Article 14 (Indemnification) When a dormitory student damages or looses the dormitory facilities, he or she is required to restore or reimburse for the damage or loss.
Article 15 (Prohibition) Dormitory students are prohibited of the following;
- Gambling, act of violence, causing commotion and noise, rude words and behavior.
- Bringing in or using following personal items ; TV, Stereo, electric heater or range, or any other electric home appliances with the exception of small radio with speaker and MP3.
- Bringing in any hazardous items, including the inflammables.
- Any change, move, and damage of facilities.
- Any scribbling, sticking, and exhibiting on the facilities.
- Outsider’s eating and sleeping at the dormitory.
- Receiving and opening other’s mail.
- Damaging dormitory notification.
- Going out without permission.
- Disorderly conduct at school, dormitory, and swimming pool area.
- Visitor without permission entering dormitory room.
- Rude words and behavior to dormitory and school staff.
- Not keeping light out time.
- Making loud noise around the dormitory.
- Any unauthorized group activities.
- Any other actions which could disturb the dormitory order.
?strong>Article 16 (Penalty) Dormitory dean can take following measures to the students who received the penalty. Refer to the attached for the penalties in detail.
- Warning
- Will be given when student’s penalty point is 3
- Will notify the parents
- The student will be given a day of community service to offset the given penalty
- Expel from dormitory
- The student will be expelled from the dormitory when his or her penalty point is more than 5
Article 17 (Admonition)
- Dormitory dean can admonish the student depending on the wrongdoing.
- Dormitory dean can ask for an interview with the student’s parents to notify and work on the problem directly with the student depending on the wrongdoing.
?Article 18 (Expel Process) Once a student is expelled from dormitory, he or she is requested to move out the next day.
